The Little Things...

So this past week we have finally gotten on the ball and have started things rolling to get our house up on the market to list.  We are down to six and a half months until we move to Nebraska.  The only catch as we have been talking to people is that they think we are going to be listing the house too early for sale.  However, anyone that knows the market down here in North Las Vegas knows that it is slow.  It is still slowly recuperating from the crash a couple of years ago.  We live in a really nice neighborhood, I have never felt unsafe being in our home alone, and I would not be afraid to live here longer.  So on Monday I had the genius idea that I wanted to install a backsplash in our kitchen to help with the appeal of the decor as far as the interior of our home went.  It turned into an easy three day project with Mike and I... But the end result is fantastic! I wish we had done it sooner so we could have enjoyed it longer.  But the hope is that it will help with the selling of our home.  As the week has passed we have figured out the last few things we need to do in order to get our house ready to go so our little list keeps growing...
  • Organize and dejunk our office
  • Get all of our guest rooms organized and packed away the right way
  • Organize our garage and camping stuff
  • Organize our pantry and food storage
  • Yardwork
The first few are not hard to do at all, we are pretty simple people and have not acquired any junk in our house, if anything I have made Mike get rid of stuff and dejunk our paperwork and other items that have accumulated in our home. I even went through my closet and got rid of stuff and it was the saddest thing ever. But in the end I gave Mike more space in the closet haha.  Working at Buckle really helped with my wardrobe but not the organization of it all in the closet.

We continued just getting back into school and work after being in Tucson and Utah for the holidays, Thursday night Mike surprised me with tickets to the Blue Man Group down at the Monte Carlo and we had a great time.  We ended up grabbing treats at the Cupcakery inside the casino, a sweet restaraunt that has the absolute sweetest cupcakes I have ever had.  I had a red velvet with thick cream cheese frosting that was devine.  We were sitting in our seats waiting for the show to start and one of the doormen from the show came up and asked if we wanted to move up near the front for free if Mike would participate in the show.  Sure! Turned out to be hilarious and something that was entertaining to watch.  I love it when he gets us awesome surprises that I don't find out about.

Woke up this morning and we made banana pancakes and hung out being lazy and I woke up from a nap and saw Mike out front just doing the yardwork.  I didn't even have to ask or say anything about it.  He just did it.  I honestly could not have asked for a better husband who spent the greater portion of the day doing stuff around the house that would help me out.  I love him more than you know, it is the little things in a marriage that make it so much better.
